Local Wi‑Fi only
All TV control happens on your home network.
On-device data
Information stays on your iPhone unless you email us.
No login
No accounts, ads, or tracking SDKs in the app.
Information stored on your device
- TV information — IP address, display name, platform type, and ports for TVs you connect to.
- Pairing credentials — For Google TV / Android TV, pairing certificates and tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain.
- App preferences — Theme, haptics, sound, onboarding state, last connected TV, and recently launched apps.
Local network access
The app uses your local network to discover TVs (SSDP, Bonjour, and subnet scanning) and to send remote commands. Network traffic is sent directly between your iPhone and your TV on your home network. We do not relay commands through our servers.
What we do not collect
- No account registration or email collection in the app
- No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
- No sale or sharing of personal information for cross-app tracking
Third-party services
Streaming app names and icons in the Apps tab are used only to help you identify and launch apps on your TV. Your TV may communicate with its manufacturer’s services according to its own policies.
App Store review prompts
The app may ask if you would like to leave an App Store review. This uses Apple’s standard review APIs and optional links to the App Store listing. We do not receive the content of your review.
Children
Beam Remote is not directed at children under 13.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings → Forget TV to remove saved device information and pairing credentials. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored app data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
